Join The Grand Theater, YWCA Wausau, and Affinity Martial Arts for a special self-defense class specifically tailored to the needs of women in our community.

Instructor Jamie Sparling of Affinity Martial Arts will teach a one-hour beginner’s self-defense class in the Great Hall of The Grand Theater. Learn techniques that apply to everyday situations and are feasible for everyone, regardless of experience or skill. This class will be an informative and fun way for ladies to learn life-saving skills and build confidence!

Part of The Grand’s Community Engagement Series, this class is a free event for women of all ages and skill levels. Athletic attire is not required.

The Grand is committed to providing educational and exciting experiences both inside and outside of the theater through its Community Engagement Series. Community Engagement events aim to enhance performances at The Grand by providing context, background information, and unique and fun educational experiences that complement Season shows.
